Activities are planned to challenge and encourage children, and include:
Whittling – beginning safely with carrots
Building and lighting fires, under close supervision
Sawing using age-appropriate tools
Mud painting and creating mud faces
Exploring with magnifiers and mirrors
Digging and hands-on exploration
Worm dances and minibeast hunts
Making stickmen and natural brooms
Making charcoal and char cloth
Supported risk-taking, such as crossing and playing in streams
Making spider’s webs and fairy houses
Listening games and stories
Collecting and sorting natural materials, exploring colours, textures and patterns
